Synthesis and Characterization of ZnBi2O4 Nanoparticles: Photocatalytic Performance for Antibiotic Removal under Different Light Sources

This work aims to synthesize a photocatalyst with high photocatalytic performances and explore the possibility of using it for antibiotic removal from wastewater. For that, spinel ZnBi2O4 (ZBO) was produced co-precipitation method its optical, dielectric, electrochemical characteristics were studied. The phase has been determined characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). ZBO morphology, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) used. Then, optical dielectric properties have evaluated calculating refractive index n (?), extinction coefficient (k), dissipation factor (tan ?), relaxation time (?), conductivity (?opt) spectral distribution T(?) R(?). An gap band 2.8 eV confirmed. performance investigated an n-type semiconductor flat potential 0.54 V_SCE found. efficiency in order degrade Cefixime (CFX) under different light source irradiations exploit properties. A CFX degradation approximately 89% obtained solar (98 mW cm?2) only after 30 min, while 88% reached 2 h UV irradiation (20 cm?2); this is line finding characterizations. According data, assisted nanoparticle can be used successfully wastewater remove pharmaceutical products.
